PILGRIMAGE TO THE SHRINE OF OUR LADY OF CONSOLATION

Feast of the Assumption
The Order of Friars Minor Conventual (the Franciscans) and the Parish of St. Anthony of Padua invite you on a mystic two-day pilgrimage in honor of the Assumption of Our Lady. We will celebrate the feast at the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio.
What: A pilgrimage by car
Where: Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey OH 43316 (about 3 hours away)
When: Tuesday & Wednesday, August 14-15, 2018
We leave by car from the parking lot of St. Anthony's church
on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m.
We will return on Wednesday afternoon about 6:00 p.m.
Who: This pilgrimage is open to anybody,
HOWEVER THERE IS A LIMIT OF 20 PARTICIPANTS.
Be sure to reserve your place early!
Cost: Free for the pilgrimage, but you will need to contribute to our supply of
food and drink (see below).

What will we do:
Friar Bob Showers and the other friars will meet us upon arrival and show us around. We will join the app. 10,000-15,000 pilgrims from all over North America for a spiritual journey and experience that can change your life.
Where will we stay and what will we eat:
Several parishioners will drive to Carey in advance with their RV units and prepare a place for us in the Our Lady of Consolation Campgrounds. We will prepare our own grilled meals in the campgrounds and sleep in our RV units.
Please note: many thousands of pilgrims camp on the grounds - hospitality is part of the pilgrimage. We will bring lots of food to share and will be invited to share by others. These common meals in the campgrounds are part of the joy of the pilgrimage experience.

The Order of Friars Minor Conventual (the Franciscans) is part of the religious order founded by St. Francis of Assisi in the 13th century. They have been caretakers of the shrine in Carey for more than 100 years. They look forward to hosting you for this year's pilgrimage experience. Laudato si!
