Feast of the Assumption
The Order of Friars Minor Conventual (the Franciscans) and the Parish of St. Anthony of Padua invite you on a mystic two-day pilgrimage in honor of the Assumption of Our Lady. We will celebrate the feast at the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio.
What: A pilgrimage by car Where: Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey OH 43316 (about 3 hours away) When: Sunday-Tuesday, August 14-16, 2022 Who: This pilgrimage is open to anybody, Be sure to reserve your place early! Cost: Free for the pilgrimage, but we ask you to contribute to the cost of the hotel rooms and we will eat at least one meal in a restaurant. (see below) Pilgrimage leader: To be announced. Write to pilgrimage@stanthonyangola.com What will we do: Friar Bob Showers and the other friars will meet us upon arrival and show us around. We will join the app. 10,000-15,000 pilgrims from all over North America for a spiritual journey and experience that can change your life.
Where will we stay and what will we eat: DETAILS FOR 2022 COMING SOON! 2019- instead of staying in a trailer or tent in the OLC campgrounds, we have booked hotel rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in Tiffin, a few miles away! It is a less rustic experience but we'll sleep better. Lunch on Wednesday will be at the friars' cafeteria at the shrine in Carey (pay as you go). Supper will be in a restaurant in Tiffin. Breakfast on Thursday is included in the price of the hotel room. Lunch will again be at the shrine in Carey. We should be back in Angola by supper time on Thursday. The Order of Friars Minor Conventual (the Franciscans) is part of the religious order founded by St. Francis of Assisi in the 13th century.
