St. Anthony of Padua Parish Pastoral Council

Picture
The purpose of the parish pastoral council is:
  • to explore the life and activities of the parish
  • to discern the needs, the concerns, the hopes, the visions and the fears of the parishioners
  • to evaluate the life of the parish in light of its mission
  • to recommend pastoral initiatives
Our pastoral council consists of between six and nine members. Six members are elected by the parishioners at large for terms of four years. Every other year, in the even numbered years, three members are elected. In addition, the pastor may appoint up to three other members at his discretion. The council meets about ten times each year.

SUMMARIES OF PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETINGS

ANNUAL PARISH TOWN HALL MEETING

Coming soon! For the sake of better communication and transparency, the Parish Pastoral Council hopes to post these public versions of the minutes of each meeting. Watch this space!

Picture
One of the pastoral council's primary jobs is to listen. The council should explore, discern and evaluate the life and needs of the parish in order to help the people fulfill their mission as Roman Catholics. This requires active listening, it requires that we elicit input. At the same time, the council should be held accountable to the people who are the parish.

One of our best tools for listening and for giving account is the Parish Town Hall Meeting, held every year since 2016.
