Knights of Columbus
Our Lady of the Lakes Council no. 7053 Angola, Indiana 46703, USA The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1882, it was named in honor of the Catholic mariner Christopher Columbus.
"The Knights" was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works. The Knights of Columbus has grown from several members in one council to 15,342 councils and 1.9 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guatemala, Guam, Saipan, Lithuania, Ukraine, and South Korea. |
Annual 50/50 DrawingThis year the Knights decided on a 50/50 raffle, beginning Labor Day, a every ticket was sold! We raised over $20,000 for the charities which we support, for the kitchen, and for the parish. A full report is coming soon. Watch this space!
