MONTHLY NIGHT OF EUCHARISTIC ADORATION - CAN WE DO IT?

St. Anthony of Padua Parish hopes to institute a monthly 12-hour Eucharistic Adoration Through the Night in accordance with the norms and format laid forth by the Confraternity of Nocturnal Adoration. This group was founded in the 19th century and is currently directed by the Pontifical Council (Dicastery) for the Laity, Family & Life at the Vatican. The purpose of the fraternity is both to encourage parishes to have nights of Eucharistic adoration and to ensure that it is done reverently and with the proper respect.

Here is what the Confraternity proposes for our parish:

  • A nighttime vigil of adoration should begin and end with a Mass, preferably an already scheduled parish Mass.
  • Saturday night to Sunday morning is best, in order to highlight the importance of Sunday Mass.
  • Our Adoration would, therefore, begin after the 5:00 p.m. Saturday Mass and end with the 7:30 a.m. Sunday Mass.
  • There must be a sign-up list to ensure proper coverage of all the hours.
  • There must be at least two people present in the church at all times. There must be, therefore, at least 24 people willing to take an hour.
  • The Church’s official prayer, the Liturgy of the Hours, should be prayed during the night.

We will continue each month (3rd Saturday/Sunday) thru June 2017. Julissa Reyna and Rosa Hinojosa will be the coordinators. The sign-up list will be available in the back of church.

If you are interested, please contact Fr. Bob (frbob@stanthonyangola.com, 260-665-2259) or Julisa Reyna (JReyna4@outlook.com, 260-624-5931).
