Christ Renews His Parish
CRHP at St. Anthony's Ending for Foreseeable Future
Over the past couple of years, there have been many discussions about the future of the Christ Renews His Parish renewal weekend retreats within the CRHP Continuation Committee. During the most recent committee meeting after much discussion, reflection and prayer, it's been decided that the recent Fall (Team 13) CRHP Weekends will be the last for the foreseeable future. While change can cause melancholy, this change should be a cause for thankfulness, praise, and even celebration!
There have been over 450 people in and around our surrounding communities who have attended CRHP here at St. Anthony's over the past 7 years. Each weekend was supported by many, many volunteers who gave their time, financial, meal and prayer support. There have been over 425 songs that were passed along that played a special part in each weekend not to mention all the HELP letters (too many to have been counted) that were written by family and friends. What an impact those letters had!!
The men and women who have participated in CRHP have experienced the overwhelming joy of renewal and transformation. They've grown closer to Christ, have made new lifelong friends, and share Christ's example of love and mercy daily at home and in the community.
There is a ripple effect from CRHP. Many are carrying on their discipleship in many other ministries of the parish and charitable acts in other organizations. Many people involved in CRHP were instrumental in leadership and participation in ARISE, Why Catholic and That Man Is You to name a few. There is even a possibility of a CRHP program at St. Charles Borremeo in Coldwater where just as St. Jude's seeded our program here with a mission team, St. Charles is hoping that a mission team from St. Anthony's will give them a gift of CRHP. Please pray for this wonderful opportunity and stay tuned to the CRHP email newsletters for progress updates. The CRHP weekends at St. Anthony's may be withdrawing for the time being, but CRHP email updates and prayer requests will still take place when needed.
At a recent conference, Pope Francis emphasized that evangelization, spiritual ecumenism, care of the poor and those in need, welcome for the marginalized are all founded upon the renewal of adoration of God. CRHP has provided that renewal and we now go out to fulfill those missions.
If you have any questions or concerns about the CRHP weekends ending for now, please don't hesitate to ask by emailing email@example.com or leaving a voicemail at (260) 243-5588. If there is to be a mission team for St. Charles, you'll hear about it from the CRHP email and also in the bulletin when the time is right.
